WONDERFUL ANTIQUE GLOBE WERNICKE STACKING BARRISTER BOOKCASE-- RARE!
NO RESERVE!!!! I bought this at an estate sale from an antique dealer many years ago and it has served me well but no longer suits my style. I have done some internet research to provide the best information I can, but I am not a dealer or personally knowledgeable about the various details regarding these bookcases. It is sold as is, for local pick-up in the Chicago Area. Details: Four D-8 1/2 Grade 598 1/2 units One D-12 1/4 Grade 598 1/2 unit One Cap One Base Overall Height 69 3/4" Width 34" Depth 11" Each unit has a sticker T is some wear and ring marks on a few of the units (see pictures) Original Finish Sheraton Style with feet One knob for the glass door is missing While the condition is nice, by no means is it pristine Believed to be mahogany (see below) Each unit has its scissor system From the website: Sheraton Style: The "500" series (508, 510, 512, 541, etc...) - Thisis a fancier style with inlays on the faces and the sides. These are,like the Universal style cases, VENEERED sides. These were manufactured only in real mahogany, as far as I know, and are pretty scarce. I believe these are meant to be the Cadillac universal style, so the tops are square and the bases have legs. Generally available only in Genuine Mahogany.
