A hard to find set of sterling silver, 47 piece GORHAM LILLY pattern flatware, Circa 1870 . Each piece has a pretty repousse floral motif in a medallion shaped panel. The backs are plain and unmongrammed, they have never been monogrammed or had any monogram removed . The set comprises of : 16 large dinner/table forks measuring 7 1/2 inches 9 luncheon forks measuring 7 inches 9 large dinner/serving spoons measuring well over 8 1/2 inches 2 dessert spoons measuring just over 7 inches 7 tea spoons measuring just under 6 inches (5 7/8) 3 demitasse spoons measuring 4 1/8 inches 1 large sugar spoon measuring 7 inchesThe decoration on all the pieces is crisp and sharp like the day it was made and they have a really nice old patina. The forks have some scratches on the back of the tines but the tines are sharp with only the slightest of wear. All the spoons are near mint with no wear to the tips or any other wear, all the bowls are in perfect shape, t is only some very light scratching. All pieces are marked with the Gorham mark , PAT.1870, STARR & MARCUS, STERLING . This means that all pieces are made by Gorham in sterling and are Circa 1870 and retailed by Starr and Marcus. The total weight for the 47 pieces is a hefty 75 troy oz. Any blurred pictures are simply bad photography, all pieces are extremely crisp! Please feel free to email if you need any further pictures.
