RARE GRETA GROSSMAN 1952 DESK LAMP EAMES ERA 50'S Maker: Troy Sunshade Year: c. 1952 Designer: Greta Grossman11" w x 6âe d x 14 1/2âe h Offering: a rare fiberglass and tubular-steel desk lamp designed by Greta Grossman in 1952, and manufactured by Troy Sunshade Company. This lamp was sold by the Ralph O. Smith outlets, and also at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Noteably one of the more limited production models designed by Grossman. Please note this offering is for the green fiberglass shaded lamp, others shown are offered in my other sales. Condition: Excellent original vintage condition, t is some paint loss due to wear at the bottom of the tubular metal stand w it sits on the surface and some minor loss at the back of the neck of the stem. The green fiberglass shade is in overall good condition showing heavy fibers throughout. T are three very small interior edge micro sized nicks on the inside edge w it appears the glass had either an air pocket or was possibly caused by the trimming process during manufacture, it can be felt by touch but visually is not that noticeable, please see photo #8 for details. The lamp is in good working condition with what appears to be the original cord and plug. I have not tried to clean the white cord as is shown in photo #9 and the plug has black cloth electrical tape wrapped around it and read more
