RARE Hall Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf Picnic Thermos-NMINT
We are listing three Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf items this week. This auction is for an INCREDIBLE find if you are a collector. It is my understanding that they only made this picnic thermos for 1 year in 1941. So not only was t a limit in production on this piece, it is also in incredible condition!!!! It reminds me of the old water coolers since it is so large in size. I took many photos to show details on this piece, so bid with confidence. Most Autumn Leaf items made of metal showed deterioration of that metal with color fading and wear-THIS ONE LOOKS ALMOST NEW!!! It would be hard to find one in nicer condition. T is a VERY minor shallow indentation to lid (see lid photo-right on light reflection spot). Camera accentuates this dent which is pretty much unnoticeable in person. The brown paint has an almost pattern to it. T is a factory? paint smudge area on base shown in last photo. The only scratched area to jewel tea decoration to mention is shown in close up on third photo. This is a minor surface scratch and really no other scratching or wear to jewel tea area-near perfect. The only dent other than lid is a 3/4" shallow indentation on curved underside area of base (2nd to last photo). Lid has push down air vent and original rubber seal. The metal of handle is just slightly losing its original shine, but not enough to notice it from any distance. Wood area of handle shows no wear. Bottom has a small ring w it sits, but that could probably be carefully cleaned to be perfect. I will let the new owner do that. The spicket looks great with no deterioration. and the inner ceramic is perfect. To the top of lid not including height of air vent or handle height it measures 12" high and about 8 1/2" across. So holds a nice amount of liquid. Other that only a very minor rub mark or two on surface not worth mentioning. I got very detailed with description and photos to show you the excellent condition of this piece. I am confident when I say you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition for a long time if ever. A great belated Mother's Day or Father's Day gift for the serious collector!
