DESCRIPTION:

A rare Chinese Han dynasty pottery "stick" man, probably modeled on a youth, circa 1,800 to 2,000 years old. The original arms would have been made of wood, which together with his clothes have long since rotted away.

Comes with a perspex display stand.

SIZE:
580mm (23.2 inches) High

CONDITION:
Some expected degradation, minor losses, abrasions, and restoration, as a consequence of extended burial and subsequent cleaning. Repaired breaks to the legs. Restored.

Han Dynasty (206BC to 220AD)

COMMENT:
I have sold numbers of these over the years, some of which were T.L. tested by Oxford Authentication Ltd in England. This one was not tested, but is guaranteed to be genuinely from the Han dynasty.

Similar figures, as recovered by a Chinese Government archaeologist, are illustrated in the final photos, from the Yangling Museum in China.
