FIVE 1940s/1950s HASKELL INSTITUTE INDIAN SCHOOL, INDIAN LEADER YEARBOOKS, BILLY MILLS OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL WINNER Opening bid is:$19.00 and shipping is $4.25 via Media Mail with a requirement of $1.65 for postal insurance since these are fairly rare books. All the Indian books that I have listed this week have been in my family for 30 plus years. The time has come to pass them on to somebody else who will enjoy them as much as we have. I will try to get everything listed within the next two days, so check back. (And this is the last of what I have). (I also have a very unique K.U./Kansas University yearbook type of publication, 1970, that has a lot of student original art, photos, pictures and poems that I will list this week). All of these yearbooks are in very good condition for their age. Some of the yearbooks have a name written on the front or in the inside. This auction is for 5 old Haskell Institute yearbooks: 1949, 1950, 1952, 1953, and 1954. All are in very good condition. This is a rare opportunity for you to obtain some very interesting pieces of American Indian history. Books like this don't come along very often on ebay anymore.1949 is 50 pages. Has wonderful signed original artwork by student Frank Brave. (see close-up photos 1950, May 26, Commencement Issue is 56 pages. Campus Queen and Brave, Marlene Eagle, Ponca Indian and Frank Brave (the artist) an Osage/Cherokee from Pawhuska, Oklahoma. 1952 is 66 pages. Wonderful signed "j.a." student artwork in this one. Whimsical and humorous in nature. Clubs Meetum , Senior with an eagle feather in his graduation cap, etc. 1953, 64 pages. More student art by Frank Brave. 1954, 79 pages. Has a blue cover with the famous Haskell Stadium Arch on the front. Billy Mills, the 10,000 meter world record setter and gold medalist in the Tokyo Olympics was a freshman that year (page 44). Also, he was on the football team (#31 jersey). They were undefeated that year. Lots and lots of cool old pictures throughout.
