Hasui Kawase, 1883-1957 "Bell Tower in the Rain - Okayama" 1 - Japanese Woodblock Print (14 ¼" x 9 5/8") Please see photos for artist signature on LL and RL for Watanabe mark. Full margins - no tears or folds. Print is glued to a paper mat along the left margin edge. Excellent color. Excellent condition. "Kawase was the master of landscape prints. Famous are his night scene prints and the designs showing snow fall or rain. Like no other artist he was capable of creating moods with his designs... The artist's landscape prints hardly ever show people. Instead, a deserted street creates peaceful, but also strange and eerie feelings...
