Up for auction is a very hard to come by Staffordshire plate
in the Texian Campaigne pattern. Produced by Anthony Shaw with design by J. B. Scalloped edge & border consists of images of Ceres and piles of arms. Central image is of a Mexican American War battle led by Gen. Zachary Taylor. This famous battle was called the Battle of Resaca de la Palma and took place on May 9th, 1846. This plate dates to around this time period. Condition is excellent, no chips, cracks or repairs. The last image shows paint on bottom w it sat in a cupboard or on a mantle. Paint will come off easily but I wanted to leave it as it adds to it's authenticity. Measures about 9 1/4" wide. You will find similar pieces of Texian Campaigne on other sites and auctions going for big money. I am starting this at $9.99 with no reserve and free shipping. Check out my other items ! Money orders & checks accepted.
