From my personal vintage jewelry collection: This is a fabulous, very decadent-looking bracelet in an elaborate design. An early piece, it is signed in an oval cartouche on the back of the centerpiece by the wonderful designer "Hobe". Pieces by this talented designer, who is one of my very favorites, are hard to come by and in great demand. This is one of the earlier pieces, since it is done in the old elaborate filgreed style, absolutely beautiful! I love this piece, and hope it finds a wonderful new home. It is rare, and fairly difficult to run across. The bracelet is a magnificent piece which has a large 3-stone centerpiece, set with emerald-cut purple/amethyst rhinestones, and surrounded by tiny rounds in a violet (purple with a touch of blue) shade, as well as 4 of the violet stones gracing each end. In between each end and the centerpiece are 5 strands of sleek antiqued brass metal serpentine chains. The rhinestones are all prong-set and faceted and the beautiful centerpiece has much detailed carving and filigree work -- signature touches of this and other fine designers. This is such a beautiful, and rare bracelet. T appears to be only minimal wear, if any at all, to the stones and to the metalwork, any of which would be consistent with the estimated age of the piece. It really looks marvelous for its age in terms of wear. T appear to be no stones missing, dark, dull, or cloudy, which is amazing in itself. All stones appear bright and clear. What little wear t is certainly does not detract from the beauty of this bracelet. T is so much sparkle and shimmer! The metalwork shows only the very minimal expected wear, and is still quite shiny for its age. I did notice some minimal wear spots on the back of the bracelet, but of course are not visible when being worn. I believe this piece was well-loved and worn accordingly. Measuring approx. 7 inches long and 7/8 inches wide at the centerpiece, the weighty and extremely well-made bracelet is a very wearable size and weight. T is a working safety chain, and the clasp appears nice and tight. The massive centerpiece is slightly arched, so as to conform beautifully to the shape of the wearer's wrist. This is a fabulous old Art Deco bracelet that I hate parting with! Although familiar to collectors, you don't see this design very often, and you will not be disappointed in it! ***Pictures always make the pieces less brilliant & colorful than they are in real life!****All sales final.
