BREATHTAKING - C1880-VICTORIAN 12K ROSE GOLD & GEM ENCRUSTED BANGLE-35GM I am so THRILLED to offer this bangle .. I have sold hundreds of bangles but this one is THE BEST i have ever had in my possession.. and i have NEVER seen another like it. This would be wonderful for an upcoming bride, or a gift for a loved one.. or simply the collector of UNIQUE and HIGH QUALITY rose gold bangles. This is a STUNNING Victorian 12k Rose Gold Peridot and Spinel Bangle with a large centerpiece that is circular and encrusted with white spinel . Spinel were referred to in Victorian Times as the "VICTORIAN DIAMOND" ...due their fabulous clarity and color and fire.. with their diamond-like qualities.. .and in the center are leaves that are studded with little peridots.. and it has a white gold centerpiece to complete the picture. This is an absolutely BREATHTAKING bangle that will be sure to please the fastidious buyer The photos do NOT do this heirloom bangle justice at all.. and some photos were taken indoors and outdoors trying to capture the sparkle of the spinel stones to show the diamond-like quality and sparkle. HISTORY This is Circa 1880 by its design and styling... It is stamped inside D & C the makers mark Jewelry manufactured prior to 1907 was not required to be hallmarked for gold content. This is a HIGH quality piece and items like this normally stand out from the others. It is a VERY RARE find due to its size and the centerpiece reminds me of the strings of a harp.. It is circular and the outer edge is encrusted with the spinel and in the center are leaves studded with small peridots.. and tiny beading surrounds all this work and it would have been hand tooled by a skilled craftsman. It has that wonderful antique soft rose gold color ..unlike the deep rose gold of today .. and you will be hard pressed to find another like this one....just a unique and beautiful heirloom from times gone by Due to its FANTASTIC design , this may have been a commissioned piece and would have belonged to a lady of wealth for those times..so fascinating..! Although not stamped for gold content the outer surface tests positive at a minimum of 12 karat gold. And it is rose gold shell .. Just in wonderful condition ! . Antique gold shell jewelry is a solid outer layer of karat gold over an underlying metal core to give it strength and rigidity. .Prior to 1907 carat gold was not required to be hallmarked. DESCRIPTION & SIZING The centerpiece is AMAZING and is a carved WHITE GOLD setting.. also . gold shell. ... a wonderful compliment to the rose gold filled setting The centerpiece measures 3" in length by 1" in height.. and the center circular piece measures 7/8"... the stones are about 15 points.. and the band measures just under 1/2" It is an oval hinged bangle and these old UNIQUE style bangles command very high book prices on antique websites that range from the mid to extremely high hundreds..and this one is no exception..due to its unique solid carvings with this fabulous width . It has no dings or dents and has been well cared for in the past. It measures approx 7 3/8" inside , and this size is rare for Victorian times and would fit a wrist up to 7 1/4" very comfortably. This is a beautiful looking piece when worn. . .It has a push button clasp and it closes with a crisp snap...the hinge is tight and secure.. This weighs approx 35 grams an lovely substantial weight... which further adds to its appeal ! T are very fine surface scratches but htese can be buffed out and are only mentioned for accuracy. .this is in STUNNING antique condition.. and i wil be watching this auction with extreme interest.. For those who have been hunting for a QUALITY ROSE GOLD BANGLE.. this would certainly be my selection... and I have honestly never come across another one like it.. This is a MUST for the collector of UNIQUE Victorian rose gold bangles IPlease note that while I do try to describe the items to the very best of my ability, all my items are either antique or vintage , so tfore are not brand n...
