HUGE ELONGATED PEAR SHAPE ERCOLE BAROVIER 16" LAMP
VERY UNUSUAL OUTSTANDING BEAUTY !! For your consideration is this lovely extra large and heavy vintage Murano lamp without the base. Beautiful cased glass, under swirlled ribbed glass, adorned with cranberry stripes which open midway down and continue to the bottom into elongated bubbles. The primary interior glass color is clear but the overlay of gold gives it an overall coloration of rose. Within the ribs as you look down the vase below the initial delicate strips of color in the neck, open over the opaque glass is a pattern of controlled, large, elongated bubbles. Has lots of gold flecks. Very heavy, big and beefy shape which resembles the pear shaped piece in the book they say is possibly Erocole Barovier ! This one is the exact same shape although larger and with swrilled ribs as opposed the the typical vertical fluting. It seems to have never been mounted giving the impression that it may not have been produced very long and was probably more of an experiment !! This is an extraordinary 16" tall piece of gorgeous glass and the effect is much like the CORDONATO D'ORO TECHNIQUE. The swirls make this piece simply stunning !! Condition of glass is excellent and has a smooth polished bottom. THE PIECE IS THICK AND HEAVY AND THE GLASS IS PERFECT. A GREAT PIECE TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION ! And easy to make into the exact type of lamp of your choice. Please see all the glass I list for sale. It is not to be confused with new contemporary Murano glass seen often on ebay.
