From the breathtaking Hudson Valley of New York, for your consideration, comes this rare Japanese Aesthetic period Satsuma Moriage Decoration oil lamp. Period 1870's aesthetic oversized vase. This is quite the unusual Japanese semi-gloss glazed Moriage raised-jeweled decorated oil lamp. Boasts wonderful fand-handles. Was converted from a vase to an oil lamp and now has electric. Could be converted back to oil quite easily. After much research online, we have not seen any in these colors. This is quite unusual indeed with its heavily jeweled decoration and bold paint-decorated terracotta background. Very crisp and clean detailing which is exactly what one can hope for in a vase such as this. Clearly it was inspired by very fine french enamel porcelain. All is coordinated with magnificent florals, scrolls and aesthetics. With Emerald greens, onyx blacks, cobalt blues, pearly whites and more, this is quite the find. All sits on a wrought iron base with decorated studs. Stands straight, tall and sturdy and is in excellent condition. The Bronze collar inset and original oil lamp fitted top are removeable to transform it into an amazing vase. Overall measures 32' tall to the top of the socket and is 11" in diameter. The fitted top measures 7" tall. Would greatly enhance your fine decor or make a wonderful addition to your collection... read more
