Japanese woodblock print triptych of âeoeShogun Tokugawaâe(tm)s Genealogyâe signed by the famous Meiji artist Mousai (active 1850-1880). This is an original woodblock print triptych about 135 years old. This woodblock print triptych depicts the family tree of the most famous Shogun Tokugawa in Japanese history. The three panels are separated. The size of each panel of this triptych is 14 3/4 x 10 inches. The artistâe(tm)s signature and two censor seals are at the lower right corner of the right panel. The big publisherâe(tm)s chop stamp and two other censor seals are at the lower left corner of the left panel. In the publisherâe(tm)s rectangular chop seal, it says the publisherâe(tm)s address, publisherâe(tm)s name, and a word âeoeOriginal Editionâe. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. The triptych is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese Washi backing paper. Two borders of each panel are intact. Except for one small (4 x 7 mm) worm hole in the green clothes of the person in the middle panel due to the printâe(tm)s age, this triptych is in excellent condition.
