JIM RUMPH 1973 SPLATTER BIRD TROLL TANKARD STEIN 7" THE SPLATTER BIRD TANKARD AKA: Dirty Bird, Pooping Bird BY THE LATE CALIFORNIA ARTIST, JIM RUMPH. The body of the mug is a tree trunk, brown on the outside and blue on the inside. Features a bird pooping on a troll inside the mug. Marked "RUMPH 1973" on the bottom. Measures 7" high, 4.5" deep, and 7.5" across, from handle to side of mug. T are two distinct variations of this piece: The first has the bird attached as a separate piece, actually using three molds for the piece - Bird, Mug and Rumph; the second has the bird as part of the mold for the mug, tfore using only two molds for the piece - Bird + Mug and Rumph. This item is the first variation and is in used/excellent condition. The discoloration on the right beak is in the original glaze. I found no chips, repairs or cracks on this item.
