A very hard to come by United Daughters of the Confederacy Cross of Military Service for the Korean War. It is a full size medal, with the original drape & brooch. Serial # 1020. Made by the Medallic Arts Co. of New York. The box of issue is included. The U. D. C. had stopped using the dolphin device after the World War II Cross to note overseas service. In near mint condition, I'd say at least 99% original. Marked Medallic Art Co., NY. With a copy of the Application for this Cross, to 1st Lt. Wendell J. Glass of the 3625th Medical Group. He served 25 months in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1955, as a Captain at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. This medal could only be awarded to lineal descendants of Civil War Confederate Veterans with honorable service during the War Between the States. Glass' Great Grandfather Quartermaster Sgt. J. B. Fleming served with the 2nd Louisiana Cavalry. I am liquidating my collection of UDC medals and will be posting more in the future. ***VIEW MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MORE MEDALS & MORE INTERESTING ITEMS*** Personal checkis okay, but must clear my bank before shipping, some times 7-10 days.Money Order or PayPal get immediate shipment. ** PAYPAL IS OKAY ** $8.00 shipping & handling in the U.S. only by Priority Mail with Tracking / Confirmation.
