Leo Smith Sleigh Santa Santa With Certificate Of Authenticity. 1049/1500. You are bidding on a wonderful Santa Claus figure by Wisconsin wood carver Leo Smith. The piece is titled "Sleigh Santa " and is reproduced from one of Smith's carvings. The piece is wonderfully formed in resin with details that make it look like a wood carving. You wouldn't know it wasn't unless you picked it up.
Sleigh Sanata was a perfect opportunity for Mr. Smith to include a child in one of his folk art collectibles, which he wanted to do for a long time. Clad in his red suit, the jolly ol' white-bearded man lands on the rooftop, drops down the chimney with his bag, and leaves gifts in stockings or under the tree for good boys and girls everyw Bundled in coat, scarf and mittens, the innocent child joins Santa on his sleigh. Together they happily ride through the night. The young child's gesturing exhuberance is the focal point of the piece and propels the sculpture into action. This piece would look wonderful in any Santa collection or in any room. What a great way to add a little Christmas Spirit to your kitchen! Santa and child in sleigh stands about 8" tall. Excellent condition with no cracks or chips. This piece is numbered 1049 of 1500 on the bottom and still has his original Midwest sticker. Included is the Certificate of Authenticity.
