This is a beautiful, rare artist signed hand painted T & V Limoges mug. It is rare is that it shows the Friar Monk wearing an apron over his habit and accompanied by a small dog (or 'pooch') on his table. The monk is shown sipping a hot drink at his table, which has a plate with bread in it, beautiful roses and his small, resting dog next to his plate. The mug has outstanding, beautiful coloring and vivid imaging, hand painted under glaze. It is 5 1/2 inches high and 4 5/16 inches wide at the base. The underside is signed with an enclosed: "T & V" and "Limoges, France" in a black mark, and is also artist signed in gold initials: "L.K.P." all under glaze. The mug is in excellent condition, with no cracks, no chips and no repairs. It only has very minor color loss around the base, which does not distract from the beauty of the mug. This unique mug would make a welcomed addition for a collection/display/use!
