A rare First Edition, it is by the author J.H. Kerry-Nicholls regarding his travels and explorations through the "King Country" of New Zealand. It is almost entirely devoted to his interaction with the Maori people and notable chiefs such as King Tawhiao and others with lots of great ethnographic content!. 380 pages, with a gorgeous and highly important foldout map, it is considered one of the top 25 books on New Zealand written in the 19th century.
