Artisan Antiquities For over 30 years we have been in business restoring and repairing antiques. As we head into retirement ,( well deserved!), I am now in the process of selling the collections of various pieces that we have acquired over the years, . Many came from " swaps" with many of my antique dealer collegues and some from auction purchases. The item listed below has been in my possesion for some years and I confirm its authenticity and provenance details w I have them. I will not be building over elaborate website style listings just an honest description ! The badger plane, reputedly named in 1863 after its creator ,a Mr Badger, was essentially a large rabbet plane with a blade skewed out to the side edge.. It was also used for raising panels. This one is imprinted " Mathieson" and is 16 1/2" (42cm.) long. This one has a small crack in the handle and has a solid repair on the top edge. However , the actually working surfaces are in good condition , ready to use. Not at all common.
