This auction is for a very nice what I beleive is a pretty rare art deco style vase by the Mayer china company. The vase is a creamy taupe? color with a white inside and has a wonderful raised nude art deco figure on the front. I do know that the Mayer China co. is better known for their restaurant ware china but did put out some pieces under the Mayer Art China name. I did do a little research online and believe that this piece could be by artist/designer Valerie (vally) Wieselthier (1895-1945), who was an Austrian immigrant who did works for the Mayer co. which included animal sculptures, figural vases and bowls. Im not sure of age and the only other piece I found that was some what similiar was dated to the 1930's. Except for a spot on the back of the vase which looks like a flaw to the glaze or an abrasion/scratching to the glaze surface, it is in great condition and this minor problem does in no way effect the look of the piece. It measures about 7 1/2" tall and 7 1/4" across the top. If t are any question or info. on this or any of my other auction please feel free to email and I will get back to as soon as possible. Thanks for looking, GOOD LUCK!!!! & HAPPY BIDDING!!!!.
