A pair of festive Meissen figurines depicting Hansel and Gretel playing with a dog and goose. This Meissen depiction of the Grimm's fairy tale about an Alpine family represents a classic tradition. This lovely pair stand 6 inches high each by 4 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches deep. In mint condition, there are no chips, scratches, cracks or abnormal wear. The joyful nature of this early 20th century pair is representative of Saxony prior to WWI and reflects the masterful craftsmanship synonymous with this Meissen during this period.
