This is a rare and fantastic item from Walt Disney Productions. The scarce Big Big Book of the story of Mickey Mouse and the Smugglers #4062. Published by Whitman in 1935, this is a first edition, all original unrestored copy from a long time private collection. It is the first time ever offered to the public since its original purchase, straight from the Jim Doyle estate. a rare oppertunity to buy a very rare book!
The book is in fantastic condition, no rips tears damage or repairs. The only writing in the book is the original purchasers penning of this Christmas present to Jimmy Doyle on Dec 25th of 1935, on the interior blank cover page. No pencil or crayon marks anyw, Jimmy took very good care of this choice book. The spine is NOT tattered or torn, unlike the one or two copies I have ever seen in my 30 yrs of antiques. The pages are good and tight, no bends folds or problems. Other than some normal foxing to the pages, a litte wear to the cover and edges, and a little bit of spine lines on the spine edges, this book is in fantastic condition. We do not use a reserve and start most all our auctions at a joke 9.99 even though many of our items will bring over $1000.00, just like this one should! This is a very rare item in wonderful condition and should easily bring over $1000.00 , so don't get sniped at the last second! According to a 3 yr old Overstreet price guide, this book in VF to NM condition lists for $1000.00 - and that was 3 years ago.
