This is the most fabulous TRAMP ART wooden art frame I have ever seen. It is in EXCELLENT shape and HUGE at 25 inches by 19 inches with 9 layers and many unique embellished details. I am not an expert on these but I have looked at this 9 layer frame very closely and I can't believe that all of the little pieces are t The unusual small velvet squares in the inside of each corner are between dark burgandy and cinnimon color and have an old flat gold braid work piece in the center of each corner twisted like an old pine needle basket top. Someone took wonderful care of this near mint piece. This is a very elegant and very folksy and I believe RARE example of European folk art. The entire frame is hand done but the work must have been by a master craftsman. Take a look at the pics (The piece is better in person as the lights kept getting in my pics.) and at the detail. The patina is a beautiful aged color of the beautiful cedar color of the cigar boxes it was carved from. The mirror is old, I'm guessing 1910 - 1920 and judging by the back which looks all original hasn't been messed with but please note that the silver is coming off in a few places which I think adds to it's authentic look but you be the judge. A number of old prints would also look great in this ornate frame. I bought this from a woman who came from Germany and said she had brought it with her. I have decided to sell it while it is still in such excellent shape, for a delicate piece, and I know to ship it in bubbles in a box floating within another box.
