Up for auction, is what I believe to be a very rare n.o.s. Champion Spark Plugs Sign. It measures 14 7/8 " X 5 1/2" inches. I only know of 3 of these and I had all 3. Gave one to friend, sold one on ebay and was going to keep one, but I don't collect automobilia so I am going to sell it.

is the story behind the signs. Got them from a WWII vet. He remembers that his father had a stack of them. As a kid his father would hand him the signs and a hammer and nails, and ask him to cover up the rate holes in his barn and on the porch of his house.

I would say this sign is from the 30's; t are no makers marks on it (maybe Champion made it themselves). This is an original sign.

I have taken the best pictures I could. T is still evidence of the brown paper that I tried to soak off with water; some streaks of blue are coming in to the white part of the sign which probably happened during the manufacturing process; t is a tiny scratch in the right hand corner - see picture; the words "Champion" and "Spark Plugs" are embossed in the metal; the words "cost less" and "more power" are not embossed. This is a great looking sign for any automotive collector.
