You are bidding on very rare, unique and Authentic and Extremelly Rare Old Tribal Carved and Painted Stone (carved as a Head). This item has very good provenance. This item is part of a group of authentic old images from a fantastic collection of African and New Guinea Tribal items. I bought these items a while ago and they all have great provenance, and the previous owner bought this item from Sam Hilu, a very well known New York Gallery, in 1987. Please feel free to email me for further provenance details. I do have a large collection of African and South Pacific images but don't have a very extensive knowledge that Art. I just collect them because I absolutelly love Tribal Original Art. My favotite is art from Nigeria. I will try to describe the item as close as possible to what has been reported to me when I bought this collection. I do not know the exact age of these Statues but I know that all the items from that collection have been with the same owner for many years.
