RARE NORTHWOOD 1904 ST. LOUIS WORLD'S FAIR LOUISIANA EXPOSITION STRAWBERRY PATTERN JELLY COMPOTE I had to have some help in the research for who made this piece of glass. My first thought was that it was definitely Fenton as they have this exact piece in their 1915 catalog. I contacted Fenton directly, and a very helpful individual t told me this piece as of 1904 would be a little too early for Fenton. They definitely attiribute it to Northwood. That being the case, you are looking at a very old and I believe rare piece made by Northwood. This is an original piece dating back to 1904 from the St. Louis World's Fair. This is known as a jelly compote and has the raised Strawberry pattern with leaves handpainted with gold trim. The piece is marked Louisiana Exposition and St. Louis 1904. It measures almost 5 1/4" in height, has no chips or cracks anyw to the main body, only some roughness in places on the underneath mold line. This is probably one of the rarest pieces by Harry Northwood you'll ever find out t It is original, in outstanding condition, and an historical piece of Northwood AND St. Louis World's Fair history!
