This auction is for a Northwood carnival glass diamond point pattern vase in the rare ice blue color. Northwood only produced these vases in this color from 1912 to 1916 according to my research.
It stands 10" tall at the highest point and 3-3/8" in diameter at the base. It flares out in 6 flame points at the top.
It is signed on the bottom with the Northwood "N" signature mark.
The vase has very nice iridescent coloring! After having this piece, I can understand why collectors hunt for the ice blue. I am not a Northwood collector though, so I will let someone else have the opportunity to enjoy it!
The piece is in very good condition with no cracks or chips. T are a few small issues that appear from production however. T is a tiny air bubble pop on top of one of the flame points. T are also 2 air bubble pops on the lower part of the base. (One is actually under). It appears that when they were forming the base, they scratched the glass and left some tiny black specks of ash. T is a straw mark from the mold in the bottom of the base also. I have included pictures of these issues for your reference. I could not get the straw mark to photograph. Overall, these
defects are so small, that they are only noticeable under close examination.
