This auction is for a very nice old advertising ash tary or tray. This neat old copper tray was made by Whitehead & Hoag of Chicago and was made for OAKLAND cars. This neat shield shaped tray shows a flying Hawk or Eagle above their oval logo. Their logo was a border of oak leaves with OAKLAND in the center and at the bottom is says PRODUCT OF GENERAL MOTORS. I would guess and say that this item is from the 1920s or 30s. You decide for sure it is OLD and ORIGINAL. It is about 4 ½ inches tall. I would imagine the hawk or eagle flying over was a model name rather then just a logo. I am sure you collectors of Oaklands will let me know. The man that this and many other old car items I will be listing came from had been collecting and restoring cars since the late 1940s. I have many brass age radiator travel badges and die cut name plaques. So be on the look out for those. This tray is in very good condition with some scuffs, scratches, and minor wear. A great addition to your collection of car and automobilia items. If in doubt ASK QUESTIONS. Don’t miss out on this neat old and possibly rare item at the last minute BID EARLY !!
