ALCOHOL THE NARCOTIC" ~ ~ ~ 35 inches long by 47 inches wide ~ ~ ~ This uncommon FULL SIZED medical teaching educational graphic was published by Denoyer-Geppert Company of Chicago which was founded in 1916. I can only estimate that this Doctor's Office or Medical School Chart was marketed about 1930... give or take a few years. I do not find a date. During the early years this company did supply visual demonstration equipment for the biological sciences. The material is a linen backing and a paper overlay. I can detect only one sheet for the paper front and do not see any joints at all and no seperation. T are no holes or rips and only one crease on the left side edge near the "Emotional Realm" area. Each edge has a few minor rough areas.T is general yellowing/darkening of the paper with this being more pronounced at the bottom for about 3 inches. T is a water stain on the back and general age discoloration. The edges are in very good condition as seen in the photos. The original ribbon used to tie and secure the chart is attached at the top as is the round eye for hanging. Both the top and bottom are attached to wooden dow rods which have a few nicks to the dark wood colored coating. On the lower right side the chart paper face is not completly caught by the dow but the linen is (apx. 2 1/2 inches). I am sure t are other minor "nit-picking" things that I have failed to list as flaws. It is my opinion that this chart is in Great Vintage Collectible Condition . This would make a great decorative piece in several different settings including the local bar or pub, your den or wet bar at home, the game room, billiard room or pool hall, some classroom settings... For collectors of Barware and Brewiana to Health Care and Medical Education Professionals, Unusual Artwork Subject, and those of us who love something a bit different this is it! The colors and details are vivid right down to the style of clothing and the great old classic automobile. The anatomy of the brain and medical observations are blunt and to the point!
