DESCRIPTION : This is a FABULOUS silver bracelet that was designed and handwrought by Horacio de la Parra (PARRA) in Mexico in the late 1930's to early 1940's. Horacio de la Parra was the original owner of Conquistador ~ Conquistador produced jewelry and holloware for William Spratling and Hector Aguilar in the 1950's. You are bidding on a stunning silver bracelet that is styled in a classical art deco design. It is masterfully crafted of seven repousse links consisting of four sterling domed balls with sterling beading accents that are crowned with rare light blue turquoise cabochons. The turquoise is bezel set in silver and accented with a braided sterling frame. The matrix in the turquoise gemstones is fabulous. The links are connected with silver rectangular links. The closure is a simple hook closure that is seen on much of the early Mexican silver jewelry. PARRA items are highly prized by collectors and this piece is of the highest quality ~ THE BEST! SIZE: Inside circumference when closed is 7-5/8", width is 3/4", and weight is 37 grams. CONDITION : Superior vintage condition ~ no dings/dints to domed sps or silverwork ~ no chips/cracks/breaks in turquoise gemstones ~ no damage noted ~ lovely age associated patina to the silver ~ just about PERFECT! HALLMARKS : "SILVER, PARRA, MEXICO". PARRA (Horaco de la Parra) is shown on pages 132 and 133 of Bille Hougart's highly respected source book, The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks (2006 edition). This piece is at least sterling 925 but most likely it is made of a higher grade of silver since much of the early Mexican jewelry was crafted of 930-980 silver. PL EASE NOTE: Mexican vintage si lver jewelry is hand wrought, and tfore, not perfectly symmetrical ~ each piece will have variances that indicate that the piece is hand made ~ this does not constitute damage. Please look at all of the photos provided as they are a part of the description. Vintage pieces will show various signs of wear since they have been pre-loved ~ items are described to the best of my ability and any known damage will be noted.
