is a very rare old O.Ames Special Shovel made by one of the oldest shovel makers in the USA. This shovel was used in our family back in the early 40's and before to shovel coal into the stove that we used to make domestic hot water for the house. The one piece wooden handle is weatd. One of the pieces of metal that attaches the handle to the shovel blade was broken and is now braised. The overall shovel measures 30 3/4" H and the shovel blade measures approx. 8 3/4"H x 6 3/4"W The shovel is marked with O. Ames Special on it.
