These stunning 19th Century Vases are simply breathtaking. The attention to detail is outstanding. Each vase has been hand painted and gilded to perfection. The design of Iris flower has been handpainted within raised gilded outlines. The handles are very French 'Sevres' in style. T is a mark to base however I am unable to read it, and believe it is Broomfield and Bates, Hanley. In addition under the glazing to the base is the number 603 in gilt. T is no damage to these vases at all however the gilding has worn in places on the handles and base as can be seen in the pictures below. The deep claret coloured glaze and heavy raised gilding is almost identical to early Spode pieces. The flowers are too beautifully handpainted not to have been painted by an important manufacturer.
