Unbelievably rare and hard to find, in such excellent condition, this pair of gorgeous S. Kirk & Son, Inc. sherbets are part of a set of six. Buy the pair or all six as I have the other four listed now as well. From my personal collection they have been given the utmost of care and it shows! They are solid sterling by Kirk and made between 1924 to 1932 as evidenced by the, Inc. in the marking. I haven't seen a set for sale anyw in a very long time. They are perfect for sherbets, ice cream, strawberry shortcakes, berries and fruit with fresh made whipped cream, chocolate mousse, and parfaits! Use your imagination and I am sure t are lots more special treats that you like to serve w they would be perfect. I have served them with Kirk repousse bread plates as an undertray and they look fantastic! They are approximately 3 1/4 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter at the rim. They have a solid sterling foot, not weighted, and they all, (six), sit perfectly flat no out of round to the bases. The repousse detailing is in excellent condition and is sharp and crisp. T are no dings, dents, or scratches of any consequence just light polishing lines as with any fine antique sterling. T is a lovely time acquired darkened patina to the repousse rim, which I think makes the pattern really stand out, that I will leave intact. Any polishing will be up to their new owner. They are marked S. Kirk & Son, Inc., Sterling and the pattern number 403. They have a very light old english S monogram to the foot, as shown in the photos, which is actually not that noticeable. I have taken photos of each set of two and the ones you see on this listing are the ones that you will receive. An amazing find they are gorgeous on display in your silver cabinet and perfectly useful for your dramatic formal table! Please see my other auctions now in progress! |
