AnthroArts RARE PAIR PRE-COLUMBIAN MOCHE GOLD FACE PIECES Click on the text links to view enlargements: 1 -2 -3 -4 -5 Very Scarce Moche (Mochica) Culture, circa 700 A.D., probably Frias Region, Peru; a rare pair of gold nosepieces, each a slightly different color gold. One largely intact, with avian figurines worked from gold sheet with turquoise eyes, a separation evident and repair to the loop to reverse; the other in a slightly different color gold, and with a partial similar avian figure; could be restored. Most certainly from the tomb of the "Bird Priest" from Moche religeous ceremonies; probably from the tomb of a Moche Priest-King. Very Rare. Certificate of Authenticity provided upon request.
