This is a nice specimen of the Brahin Pallasite. This meteorite was found in Minsk, Belarus in 1810. Many masses were found, with a total known weight of over 2000 kilograms! Brahin is well known as a ruster, a meteorite which can be unstable and rust is not properly stored in a very dry environment. I DO NOT recommend this meteorite for a humid area like Florida for example. Brahin has very nice large crystals. I am simply putting this information in the auction for the buyer to be aware of some of the issues associated with this meteorite. This specimen weighs 13.41 grams and is a nice polished partslice that measures 49 mm by 40 mm by 2 mm thick. This piece is quite nice. It is enclosed in a plastic display bow with dessicant beads, which will keep the piece from rusting as long as the box is unopened. PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE BOX, the meteorite will likely rust badly if it is opened. PLEASE NOTE: I will be out of the country until 16 January. I can not ship any item until that date. I am a meteorite dealer and fully gaurantee the authenticity of every meteorite and tektite specimen I sell. Be sure to see me in the March 1999 issue of the Smithsonian Magazine, I am featured in an article about meteorite hunters! I am also featured in Fortune Small Business magazine.
