On offer is the following rare automotive book: "Pictorial Proof of Progress ." St. Cloud [Minn.]: Pan Motor Company (1918). 9½-inch-tall oblong folio, in decoratively embossed cloth with beveled board-edges; 269 pp., with two folding plans and two folding maps located in pockets on the pastedowns. This unusual work was produced before the demise of the ill-fated Pan Motor Company, a venture that produced some number of luxury automobiles in Minnesota around the time of the First World War. In addition to the aforementioned folding maps and plans, this lavishly produced book contains countless illustrations and photographs of cars, car parts, manufacturing processes, sites in Minnesota, the persons behind the Pan Auto Company, and, at the end of the book, examples of the houses in "Pan-Town." (The book also comes with a publication about the Pan Motor Company that appeared as part of the June 18, 1972, "St. Paul Pioneer Press & Dispatch Magazine," which an earlier owner inserted into the book.) Aside from a bit of rubbing to the board edges and some weakness to the upper hinge, condition is excellent. A fine example of this scarce piece of Minnesota automotove and architectural history. Buyer to pay actual cost of postage. Non-U.S. bidders are welcome. (Note to international bidders: This book weighs over 4 pounds, so shipping read more
