These are obviously Military Issue binoculars. They are marked "ARMEE" & "MARINE" on the focusing barrels. They are marked on the eye pieces "L. Petit FABT Paris". They are further marked "Made in France" on the center bracket. T are no markings on the case or strap. I believe they date to WWI? I have seen similar marked binoculars from a Paris factory called "Hezzanith" but while these are quite similar in style, they are not so marked? They are in really nice condition. The leather covering is fully intact and the sewn seams are also intact with good stitching. The binoculars are not marked as to power? I measure the objective lens at 50mm and am guessing as to the 7x magnification. They have sliding, self-storing lens hoods. The collapsed binoculars are 7-3/4 inches high. With the focusing all the way out and the lens hoods extended, they are 9-3/4 inches tall. The case is in very good condition. One of the bindings on the top-carry handle is gone but otherwise, the case is very very nice. Binoculars weigh 1 pound 11 ounces out of the case or 2 pounds 7 ounces in. Whether you collect Old Military pieces or vintage optics, these will make a splendid conversation piece and a handsome addition to your collection!Exterior of the glass elements are without scratches or marks. Interior is clean with not dust, haze, or fungus. T is some light separation around the perimeter of the objective lense but the field of view is clean and these are in no way noticable. Remarkably clean and sharp for what they are and how old they are! Domestic shipping will be in a flat rate priority mail box. This is a NO RESERVE auction.
