DESCRIPTION : This is a MAGNIFICENT sterling silver necklace and earring set that was handwrought Mexico in the late 1950's/early 1960's and sold by Marcel Boucher of PARISINA. According to Bille Hougart (author of the highly respected source book, The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks) , Boucher was born in France and was an apprentice with Cartier. He established the Marcel Boucher and Cie Company in New York in 1957 after he spent a few years designing jewelry for Mazer Brothers in New York. Boucher used the mark PARISINA on his Mexican made items. Marcel Boucher passed away in 1965. The necklace is spectacular and is masterfully crafted in a great art deco style design in an organic leaf motif. It consists of curved flowing repousse silver links with incised accents ~ the links are very dimensional ~ link connections are silver "O" rings. The clasp is a simple foldover clasp that locks when closed. The earrings are made like the links of the necklace and are clip-on style. This handwrought necklace and earring set is a masterpiece ~ art-to-wear at it's finest ~ a very collectible, signed, and fully hallmarked vintage set. The design is classically elegant and timeless ~ the quality and craftsmanship are as good as it gets ~ THE BEST!!! A matching bracelet is being offered separately.
