Outstanding and Rare Peter Vanderlaan / Mary Beth Bliss Byzantine Tapestry Dino Egg in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage. Stunning art glass piece by renowned glass artist Vanderlaan has an amazing design featuring elaborately patterned segments of dichroic glass applied over a solid dark background with areas of opalescnt glass and murrini. Mary Beth Bliss designs the elaborate etched segments that make up each "tapestry," bringing a sense of form and design to the piece. The "Tapestry" series incorporates all of Peter's vast technical expertise aquired during years of work as one of the countries best glass artists who has worked extensively with Dale Chihuly and who produces some of the worlds best glass making crucibles. Beautiful large piece stands 15 1/4" tall, 9" wide and is signed "Vanderlaan Bliss 9/00". Compare with smaller pieces for sale at various glass galleries at $895 and up!
