Early Victorian (5 5/8" x 4" - about 2 3/4" thick) personal leather bound photo album containing about 48 CDV photograph portraits (one woman - last page - see pic) from the class of 1879 which I believe, as I was told, were possibly graduates of Hope College. Two portraits cards were originally inserted into each page and although none have been glued they are a tight fit; I find a few pages have small tears at the paper borders, I hesitate to remove any of them for any possible identification purposes since the paper is fragile. This was obtained from an estate (a few years ago, I believe) in Holland, MI and although t is no indication of the college name anyw in the book, these are college age men and the inscription on the front cover reads, "A' - 'Class 1879." It appears to be something from a student's, teacher's, or other school member's collection. Rubber stamp on inside front cover (see pic) identifies the book as being "FROM JOSLIN & BREYMAN JEWELERS - HOLLAND, MICH." The book does stay shut with either a cast brass or bronze clasp. Outer cover quite worn; each of the pictures intact, clean, nice; good contrast on these as they are studio portraits. If you have any other information you'd like to share, I'd most certainly appreciate it. otherwise PLEASE EMAIL FOR ANY FURTHER DETAILS PRIOR TO BIDDING! ======== NO RESERVE read more
