This large format (8 x 13 in.) color-illustrated folio was published in London by the Polish War Ministry on 27 pazdziernika(?) 1941. It is titled in Polish : Dziennik Rozkazow Tresc: POZ. 53. Przepisy Umundurowania Wojska Poza Granicami Panstwa Polskiego . Not having a reading knowledge of Polish, it appears to be either the uniform and insignia regulations for the Polish Army, Air Force and Navy or manufacturing specifications for the same issued by the Polish Government-in-Exile. The publication is complete and in its original paper wraps and consist of five pages of text (numbered 79-83), followed by 10 numbered plates (5 in full color) and charts, each being either a full page in size or a double- or triple-page fold-out of uniform and headgear schematics. Most of the illustrations appear to relate to adopting Polish insignia and distinctions to British-pattern or produced uniforms for the Free Polish armed forces, including battle dress jackets. However, traditional Polish military headgear, such as the czapka cap, are also shown in detail. This handsome publication is apparently quite rare, as I could find no record of copies previously sold by rare book dealers or at auction. It is in very good to excellent condition, less some slight dog-earing to the upper RH corner of the text pages and the first chart, not affecting text or illustrations. This is an UNRESERVED AUCTION.
