~*#*~ LOW RESERVE ~*#*~ Up for bid is a vintage adorable Purinton Art Pottery ~ Sailor Old Salt & Pepper His Wife ~ Salt & Pepper shaker set. This charming couple is sure to please - he dressed in sailors garb & she in a striped dress w/ apron & holding a rolling pin. Each are hand painted under the glaze with great attention to detail. Both are in Wonderful condition with normal age related crazing - he has a small factory flaw under the glaze chip on his base underside bottom - only can be seen if you turn him over. They measure right at 3" tall and the gentleman is marked with a raised in the mold USA on his base bottom. They each retain old cork stoppers. This set can be found in the Purinton Pottery Collectibles price guide by Susan Morris on page 216. I am sure you will be pleased to add this rare pair to your Purinton collection or to any vintage salt & pepper collection. Please ignore any flash marks or glares in the images.
