RARE QUEEN TREADLE SEWING MACHINE
RARE QUEEN TREADLE SEWING MACHINE
Sold For:
Not to be confused with the "New Queen" that was made by Sears and Roebuck/Singer. This is a rare"Queen" treadle machine that was made by the White Sewing Machine Company. These machines were made between the years of 1893 and 1920. Until recently, it was not known that these machines were manufactured by White as some of them do not have the name White stamped into their side plates. What makes this Queen even more rare is that it is the only known full size fiddle base machine made by White Sewing Machine Company. The reason for the name fiddle base comes from it's unique shaped base plate thats not square, but shaped more like a fiddle is.Although the White Sewing Machine Company used at least four name badges for this model: Grand Union,Queen,Stockman, and Sterling. It is unknown under which name this series was launched in the 1890's tfore, it would be premature to call this the Queen Class although the Queen from the imformation I have is the best known of the models.
