Up for auction is a Rare Red Wing Stoneware Co.,five gallon wing beehive threshing jug,with the Hex bung.... This jug has a replaced handle on it.The repair was done by Keith in Red Wing,Mn.I think he did an excellent job on this repair.It is very hard to pick out when this jug is on display.Please see the pictures for a better description of this.T is also a small chip on the base and a small imperfection on the Hex bung.A small glaze pop below the 5. These were commonly used in the field during harvest,hence the name "threshing jug".The hex bung ,or re-inforced bung was made strong to allow for a wooden spigot to be driven into the opening to make a water tight seal. This jug also has a rare albany slip interior which can be seen at the top and the bung opening.On the right side t are some blue smudges,a couple of glaze smears,and some spots of albany slip.On the rear t is albany slip spots.On the left side of the jug t are more albany slip spots. This jug displays great ! is a rare oppurtunity. The jug will be packaged with care,rest assured it will arrive in good shape. Good luck and have fun.
