RARE and BEAUTIFUL figural ROOK from ROOKWOOD pottery! This piece of pottery dated 1923 is from a longtime Los Angeles personal collection. This is described as "RARE" by Nicholson/Thomas' "Rookwood Pottery Identification & Value Guide". Rookwood's original inventory card titled this piece as "Crow". McDonald was the artist responsible for this great piece. This 10" tall by 9.5" wide piece is in flawless condition save on tiny fleabite just on the front neck. It took me some time to even notice it. The high gloss blue glaze selected for this piece shows so much detail. What a magnificent piece of art. It is appropriately marked on the bottom as the picture indicates with the Rookwood logo, Roman numerals depicting the number "23" (XXIII) and McDonalds initials stamped into the clay. It is a fairly heavy piece.I accept Paypal, money orders and cashiers checks. I ship via USPS Priority Mail from Santa Monica, CA. Insurance is required on this piece. I will only ship to the US for this piece. Should you have any questions please email to me up to 24 hours prior to the close of this auction.Thank you and good luck!
