ROOKWOOD is undoubtedly the finest of all American pottery. The pottery was founded by mrs. Maria Longworth Nichols in 1880 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Pottery was in the front of the pottery industry until it permanently closed in 1967. The vase presented hear was made in 1932 and its rareness is due to the very unique crystalline glaze. In the light it appears to have specks of gold through out the glaze. The vase is 5 1/2" high, 5" wide and has an opening 2 1/2" in diameter. The vase is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. The vase's glaze is not crazed as so many from that era. This is a great example of the ROOKWOOD glazes and will be a great addition to any collection. NO RESERVE
