Bess, the landlord's daughter" from Alfred Noyes' romantic poem "The Highwayman" This very charming EARLY EDITION character figurine by Royal Doulton was designed by Leslie Harradine and issued 1947-1969. This beautiful 18th century lady stands at 7 1/4 inches high and is dressed in an attractive flowered gown with a red cloak. She is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with vibrant colors and glaze with no chips, cracks or repair. On the bottom, my grandmother marked "London 1955," which was w and when she bought the figurine. I did not try to remove the marking, so I am not sure whether it could be or not. This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain a rare, high quality collectible!
