This is a rare and quite superb Royal Doulton commemorative jug with a brown rope twist handle. The body is a coloured glazed stoneware with a bulbous base. The jug is dated c1905 and was produed to commemorate the battle of Trafalgar and Lord Nelson. Underneath the lip is an oval profile portrait of Lord Nelson. 1758-1805 with a coronet above. Lord Nelson born 1758. Died 1805 is inscribed below. To the sides, profiles of naval battles. Around the cirumference: The Trafalar signal: ENGLAND .EXPECTS. EVERY. MAN. WILL. DO. HIS. DUTY. The overall height is about 8inches with a max width of about 5.75inches. Royal Doulton logo to base. The jug is in an excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration Besides being a very collectable and rare Royal Doulton commemorative jug of an outstanding quality, would also look fabulous displayed.
