IS ANOTHER ONE OF OUR FANTASTIC AUCTIONS!!

VERY RARE, ROYAL DOULTON JUG OR PITCHER

"THE GALLANT FISHERS"

This is a VERY OLD, large Porcelain/Ceramic Pitcher by Royal Doulton titled "THE GALLANT FISHERS". This is a highly collectible and hard to find piece, especially in this unbroken condition.

The piece measures 8" high X 7.5" wide X 5" accross the bottom. It's in very good condition with NO chips, repairs or paint loss, however it does have typical age crazing.

This piece is fully HAND PAINTED with beautiful details and has the words "The gallant fishers life, it is the best of any" on the inside lip. It is a must have for any serious Royal Doulton collector!

A great item to add to your collection!!

I also want to point out that t is a dark line coming down about 2-3" on either side of the spout. This appears to be a crazing or shrinking line, due to the age of this piece. Over time the clay expends and contracts, but the glaze does not, this is what causes the familiar crackling and lines called "crazing" and in most cases is not considered to be a fault as it is so common. The pitcher looks and feels solid and in no way can I feel or see a crack in the rim, just the dark line in the glaze. If you need more close-up pics, please just ask and I will be happy to send them, THANKS!!
