This auction is for a Sandwich Pressed Rosette Pattern Amethyst Glass Cup Plate, The Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., c. 1835-1855. This is a beautiful Sandwich glass cup plate in a very rare deep amethyst glass. The cup plate is Lee-Rose #324. This cup plate can be found in "A Guide To Sandwich Glass Blown Tableware, Pressed Cup Plates and Salts," by Barlow and Kaiser, plate #1385. w an amethyst glass example booked for $375 back in 1993. I offer this very rare colored glass example with a "Buy It Now" and reserve less then half of the 1993 value!.
DIMENSIONS: The cup plate is 1/2" Thick. 3 1/4" Dia. .
CONDITION: The condition is very good with a couple of small chips and nicks to the rim as expected in a cup plate from this earliest period. The glass also exhibits the expected flaws found in the early glass of this period such as; sand, bubbles, straw marks and styrations.
